I recently had a tele-med appointment with my endocrinologist. She is treating me for osteoporosis. I had been on Fosamax for almost three years when I developed sharp pains in my back and legs, which can be a side effect. She switched me to a related medicine but with the same result. She is gently prodding me to take Prolia, which is an injectable medication.

I am now hesitant about taking any drug, preferring to take a calcium supplement and add calcium-rich foods to my diet.

Have you had a similar situation? How did you resolve the issue?
