New York MTA Lawsuit over Accessibility

I can't believe I forgot to post this last month! I just found it in my bookmarked pages. This is a good read, especially for anyone living in New York! TL;DR: Currently, less than 25% of NYC subway stations have elevators. MTA raced a station's stairs with new ones but failed to install and elevator. Lawsuit resulted in a ruling that in any future MTA renovations regarding usability, elevators must be installed unless it's technically infeasible, no matter how expensive it is.

    This is great news! It is very sad that it took a lawsuit to make this happen but it is good that the issue will be address going forward.

    Agree, sad that it usually takes a lawsuit to change things like this.
