Skin Irritation In The Groin

Hello Everyone!

Does anyone else out there have skin irritation or cracks that form in between their legs? As the primary caregiver of my husband, I have to diligently make sure that his groin area and all crevices around that area between his legs are constantly kept try with a high level zinc cream applied after. If I miss even one day, he seems to get redness and irritation. If I happen to miss a spot for a day or two, even with proper drying techniques, he gets skin cracks that only go away with a week or so of cleaning and 40% zinc protective cream applied to the area.

I find that in the summer its worse, as he does have some sweat down there that forms.

Does anyone else out there have any tips on prevention or curing this that I am not aware of?

I have something similar to that. I have eczema in my groin area and it does not help the fact that I am siting down all day. I also do notice like you said, it gets worse on hot days and summer is coming. That area does not get much air flow or airing out as much as I would like haha. One of my doctors recommended a cream called "Fresh Balls" I got if off of amazon. I just got it and have only used it once, but seemed to work good. Here is a link to it and hope it works for your husband.

This is an area that we really take care of because I can get irritations as well. When I shower, we make sure to really clean that area and ensure that it is 100% dry before getting dressed in the morning. I know it is pretty simple but it has really helped me avoid irritation.

I am also the caregiver for my husband, and I also find this to be an issue.  Even with diligent care, it can still be an issue.  Some creams are better than others, and I just recently found a new one that is happily, quite cheap.  I guess this is one of those things in life that we will always need to learn for. :)

I find that once it starts up, its sooo hard to get rid of especially in the summer months! These poor guys - they have no air flow getting between their legs sometimes.. I have to lay my hubby. in bed and spread his legs open with a fan pointed on his groin to air it out properly! And sometimes that doesn't even work..  :'(  - Brooke
