I’m wife and caregiver of my newly paraplegic husband (3 years post injury). We have been married over 26 years. I just found out my husband has been having an affair with one of his nurses from SCI rehab for quite some time. I’m trying to find a way to deal with this but am really struggling. I have supported, encouraged, loved and cared for him since the date of his injury.  My question is to other SCI caregivers/spouses out there, has anyone else gone through this and how did you cope? Did you work things out or did it end your marriage? Thank you.

@Mich72 Hello - we did not see this post as it wasn't in the WAGS slipped through our radar!

We are a wives and girlfriends of Spinal Cord Injury support group and have many ways to communicate with other women who are going through what you are going through. We have 520+ (and growing) women in our Facebook private discussion group (who are strictly WAGS only) as well as a thriving community on Instagram. We also have ambassadors in various cities around North America who are the main points of contact for women who want to meet in person.

We feel for you. This is a terrible situation and we hope you're ok. Yes, we have heard about this happening from time to time, so you are not alone in that.

If you need to reach out privately, we can always connect you with another woman who has gone through this post SCI injury. Please email us anytime [email protected] if you want to chat

    Thank you
