Feedback needed! Administration for Community Living Issues Request for Input to Assist Council

In 2018, the Recognize, Assist, Include, Support, and Engage (RAISE) Family Caregivers Act was signed into law by the President Trump. This legislation commissioned the formation of the Family Caregiving Advisory Council, which is tasked with assessing related problems and solutions in order to create the country’s first national family caregiver strategy. This strategy will better support individuals in our community and their family caregivers.

The Council operates under Health and Human Services’ Administration for Community Living (ACL). The Administration for Community Living has requested information from organizations and individuals regarding challenges faced by family caregivers. This valuable insight will be used as a resource for the Family Caregivers Advisory Council and will assist in developing a national family caregiving strategy. If you have feedback on this matter, you are strongly encouraged to send your input through this link. The deadline for public information is February 7th.

James Murtha, an advocate for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, sits on the Council. Read his blog about his experience here.
