Covid care if hospitalized
As a quadriplegic with poor lung capacity and having nearly died twice from pneumonia, I am honestly frightened about the possibility of acquiring this illness. I hear of stories of medical personnel in the hospitals pushing families to place their elderly and disabled love ones on the do not resuscitate status. This seems to be occurring when the number of cases are high in the number of respirators/ventilators are low. Do we have any information regarding the treatment of spinal cord injured individuals who acquire covid-19? Are they receiving equal treatment and what are the differences in survival rates? With caregivers coming in and out of my home, I cannot control what they do and what they are exposed to which ultimately means that I cannot control my environment. This is been a terrifying experience and reassurance would be great!
