Adaptive Sports Research Survey
My name is Khoa Vo, a student research assistant at San Diego State University, reaching out on behalf of Dr. Domingo and a group of researchers/faculty who are a part of the Rehabilitation Biomechanics Laboratory. We are conducting a survey to understand how to increase access for disabled youth to participate in adapted sport. If you didn’t know, adapted sports are competitive or recreational sports for people with disabilities, such as wheelchair tennis, sitting volleyball, or sled hockey. https://youtu.be/W7BcizA0smU (the video advertisement of our project).
We are looking for parents who:
- are 18 years of age or older AND
- have a child between the ages of 5 and 17 with a physical or sensory disability
Your child does NOT currently have to participate in adapted sports, but we ask that only one parent per family takes the survey.
In the survey, we will ask you questions about your child's disability, questions about whether they participate in sports, your opinions about adapted sports, as well as demographic information about you and your child. No sensitive information will be obtained and no identifiable information will be collected on the subjects.
The survey should take less than 10 minutes, and if you participate, you can enter a drawing to win 1 of 40 Amazon Gift Cards (valued at $25 each).
If you do not want to participate in the survey or are ineligible to, you can enter the drawing on or before November 30, 2020 by sending a letter to: Parent Survey Drawing, ATTN: Antoinette Domingo, 5500 Campanile Drive, San Diego, CA 92182-7251. Please indicate in the letter your name and email address. Anyone can enter.
