Now what should I be aware of?

I am a complete T6 SCI  following a ruptured aortic aneurysm. Paralyzed from the waist down, I thought that was the worst of it.

Now I  have been diagnosed with scoliosis of my spine, which was preventable.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this or is aware of any other subsequent conditions that I may possibly avoid. I live in US but do not have private insurance.  Thank you for any insights!

    Hi, Abby!

My name is Donna; I am an information specialist with the Paralysis Resource Center.

I can send you some information and resources on scoliosis as well as on skin/wound care to avoid pressure injuries. We also have information on autonomic dysrelexia which needs to be treated if you experience symptoms.

I would be happy to send this to you. Please contact me at [email protected]

    Sincerely,

    Donna
