Medical Cannabis and CBD
I know for some this may be a touchy topic, but one I think should be talked about on this forum. I know a lot of people with spinal cord injuries struggle with pain and muscle spasms. I take 40mg of Baclofen twice a day for my crazy spasms, it is highest amount I can take and barely makes a difference. I do not want to take stronger medications because of risk of future kidney problems. I tried Marijuana for my spasms and it was a NIGHT AND DAY difference! I have been using it ever since to help clam my body spasms and sleep. For those who are not interested in THC, CBD is another great option. This discussion is for anyone that has questions, wants to share personal experiences with Cannabis/CBD, what works for you, how to use it, the different types, and anything else related to the topic that you want to talk about! Look forward to talking with all of you and spreading the benefits of cannabis!

@bluestek You should look into tincture. That is also a good way of trying CBD and/or THC without smoking it.
Here's what it looks like from the girlfriend's perspective. My boyfriends doesn't drink alcohol very often but does like to hang with Mary Jane quite often. He uses "indica" for nighttime sleep. If he wakes up to "cath" in the middle of the night, and have a puff to control spasms. His spasms diminish almost instantly and he is able to go back to sleep peacefully. For those of you who aren't a fan of the psychoactive properties, CBD is an awesome alternative. We have both been using CBD to manage stress, which also seems to help with sleep long term. In fact, we recommended it to our HomeCare nurse who is 60 and she claims she's been getting a much better sleep! Hope this helps.

CBN: “Cannabinol is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found only in trace amounts in Cannabis, and is mostly found in aged Cannabis. Pharmacologically relevant quantities are formed as a metabolite of tetrahydrocannabinol.” I got it from a dispensary in CO. It directly affects your nervous system, so it’s BEAUTIFUL for nerve pain, muscle spasms. OG Kush is my favorite indica so far. It’s strongest affects are; relaxed, happy, euphoric.
pain (if the cannabis was not sufficient). I have an implanted pump with Dilaudid; Baclofen is being
added in two weeks. I recently got a an adjustable bed, but my right sided SCI has progressed to my left side and I need assistance moving in bed. Does this sound familiar to any of you?
