Coping during Covid

I wanted to check in to see how everyone is doing with Coronavirus impacting the world and our lives in such significant ways.

In some ways I wish that we could get some relief from talking about it because I feel like I need a break,  but I also recognize the significance of the situation.

I am bothered by people who joke about coronavirus because it "only" kills elderly and immunocompromised people.  A lot of people with disabilities are immunocompromised, including many of my clients and my friends. I am truly bothered by the people who don't recognize the serious impact and life threatening situation many individuals are facing.

On a personal note, I'm also anxious about isolation.  I'm a really social person.  My law office is wonderful and is moving to remote work immediately out of an abundance of caution, which is great to help slow the spread of coronavirus, but at the same time I am anxious about not being able to have as much social interaction.

How are you all doing? Do you have any tips or tricks to help with isolation anxiety? Is there anything you're worried about?

Not going to lie.. we are taking things a bit more seriously now. I would say we are being as precarious as we are with the regular influenza flu during flu season. We stay away from larger groups and wash hands even more frequently. I would say we are making better choices to not expose ourselves unnecessarily.

However, I am choosing not to play into the fear and panic that the world is in right now. I am just being smart in my home, and helping my C4 partner to take extra precautions.

    Some things we are doing:

    - not attending any hospitals or doctors appointments unless absolutely necessary
    - before I come in the house I spray the bottom of my shoes with a natural disinfectant (Seventh Generation), then take them off at the door
    - hand washing more than normal with regular soap (not anti-bacterial soap) for at least 20 seconds per time, but also moisturizing more too to protect my skin barrier balance. You don't want to remove everything from your hands or else your body will not have any ability to fight bacteria anymore.
    - I have been spraying and mopping the floor with NATURAL disinfectant daily, just in case
    - Preventative vitamins - taking more probiotics and more vitamins to ensure our immunity is in top condition - also eating really well and adding more greens to our diet. They say Vitamin A helps to ward off this infection

Those are the basic things we are doing, without getting into panic mode. I cant help but actually look forward to staying in this weekend.. theres something nice about doing nothing except relaxing at home.

I am hoping everyone out there is SAFE and being cautious too!
